Co-worker invited me to order lunch for carry out on Thursday July 2nd, 2026. It was my 1st time eating from L&L and was informed it was very good food. I ordered 2 Auntie Sarah's Stir-fry beef w/extra cabbage. The beef was burnt (blk) and tasted very bad. No extra cabbage as well and came out very disappointed.

Extremely disappointed with this visit. I ordered the kalua loaded pork fries and they were overwhelmingly cabbage — way more than pork — with no mention of cabbage anywhere in the menu description. We simply asked for extra cheese and received none at all. The fries were also barely cooked — crispy on the outside but completely undercooked on the inside. The garlic shrimp was heavily battered and fried, nothing like the light, buttery garlic shrimp you get at L&L in Hawaii. It completely missed the mark. To top it off, the staff was unfriendly and unhelpful. No one made any effort to address any of the issues. I really wanted to love this place, but it’s not even close to an authentic Hawaiian plate lunch experience. If you’re hoping to recreate memories from Hawaii, keep looking — this isn’t it. Won’t be returning.

The customer service has been consistently disappointing for months now. Every time I call in, it feels like the person taking the order is brand new and unsure of what’s going on. That said, we kept coming back because the food was always worth it. Unfortunately, the food quality has started to go downhill too. I’ve ordered the breaded fried shrimp plate for years, and today — on top of them being out of katsu chicken — the shrimp arrived barely breaded and honestly looked pretty sad. I really hope improvements are made because this place has so much potential and used to be one of our go-to spots.

Menu can be confusing but the food here is so good!! Sharing a mix plate is enough for 2 people. We got the hot lava chicken katsu, chicken curry katsu, bbq beef, and garlic shrimp and all were so tasty. Can’t wait to try more of their menu items!

Husband got a Tiktok about this place and asked if I wanted to go eat for lunch and when I tell you I haven't been this excited about food in a long time I mean it! I had NO idea we had an L&L in Austin!! My family is from Hawaii and every time we go back we get all the local food and L&L was one of my favorite places...and one of my favorite sides to get with a lunch plate is Mac salad..I got the half and half, katsu and Kalua pork, husband got the mixed BBQ plate. When the guy (I have a hunch he's the owner, and also from HI) said it comes with two scoops of rice and Mac salad I immediately squealed "Mac salad!!!"😅 absolutely the BEST decision we made to drive down for Leander and absolutely worth the drive and price - everything made me feel happy inside and had me feeling a little closer to home as we haven't been back since 2019. The katsu was perfection, absolutely crispy on the outside and juicy chicken on the inside, and the Kalua Pork 🤌🤌 absolutely juicy, perfectly salted, and tender. Rice was the delicious sticky rice I prefer over other rice types, and the Mac salad was ABSOLUTE 🔥🔥🔥the teriyaki chicken was so flavorful, and juicy on the inside, and the kalbi ribs were so
